Deadline Updates Fall 2013 09/05/2013

Hey All,

Fall is almost here! We're excited for the upcoming poster releases and so thankful for the opportunities to work with all the great schools and sponsors this season. This has been one of the craziest, most exciting, and most productive seasons that we've ever had... and the best part is still to come.

Since the season is capping off, the deadline updates are little more than a formality now. When this blog started it was more of a pet project of the Design Team, a way for us to communicate with our sponsors more directly, but now we've been given the green light to put much more into it. In the future we will be updating the blog here and on Wordpress with all kinds of information on deadlines and information relating to posters and other projects that we are getting ready to announce. We hope that, going forward, you find it as interesting and informative as we find it fun to put together.

Alright, deadlines! Remember that if you had previous arrangements with us regarding the poster deadlines, please contact us so that we can work with you. Any late submissions that do not have previous arrangements will result in a sponsorship listing only. We do our best to contact everyone multiple times, but eventually we do have to move forward.

A Note from the CEO

Hey all,

It has recently come to our attention from places on high that we are now limited in our ability to send out posters to sponsors. This is for several reasons, the primary one being that it costs us about $7.67 altogether per poster to mail these out. When you factor in how many posters go out each season (around 750-1000 posters are mailed from our facility to the sponsors), it takes an incredible chunk of funds away from the student athletes that we raise money for. As a result, we will only be sending electronic copies of posters until further notice. If you still want a copy of the poster, this is what we have been told by the CEO;

"...if you would like to have a copy, we would be happy to send you one for free. If you feel as if you would like to contribute to the $7.67 cost, we can charge that directly to any major credit card. We also accept EFT, check by phone, or email payments." --Steve Stenerodden-Olds, CEO Poseidon Media Group

As much as it breaks our hearts to have to cut back on this part of our budget, we realize that our ultimate goal is to get money to the kids who really desperately need it. In that respect we ask for your patience and generosity in helping us help these programs to thrive.

If you would like a copy of the poster, please drop us a line at artwork@highschoolsupport.com or call us at (800) 630-4213. We will happily arrange for you to get one of these beautiful pieces to display in your own businesses and homes.

Physical Copies--Do's and Don'ts

Hey all! We're pretty slammed with the winter posters, but we wanted to take a moment to talk about physical copies of artwork. We received a lot of copies of business cards, menus, brochures, and post cards in the mail for sponsor art, and noticed a few things that just keep coming up. Let's take a moment to touch on what to do--and not do--with physical copies.

  1. Please do NOT staple, tape, paper clip, or otherwise affix your art to anything. It may seem harmless enough, but it damages the copies and makes them difficult to work with.
  2. Please DO include more than one copy of your art. At least two, but four is a safer bet.
  3. Please do NOT draw on your art, unless you have included a clean copy with it as well. Art that has boxes, words, arrows, sharpie marks... it's damaged and likely cannot be used.
  4. Please DO include a copy of your sales receipt/invoice with your art. Sometimes it's not recognizable based on what we have in our notes.
  5. Please DO include a separate sheet if you are going to make notes. Or send us an email, or call! Just remember the first DON'T, never ever affix your art to anything else.
  6. Please DO send the latest version of your artwork. We aren't psychic, we don't know if your art has changed since then.

That's it. Happy art-ing!
